Gloria knows that her perseverance will allow God to complete His good work in her. So she embraces life's difficulties, continues to fight the good fight, and is prepared to suffer for doing good.

Why God wants souls of beauty

When you look at a baby do you just see a helpless infant; or do you see a beautiful soul of promise and potential? God sees His children through eyes of hope and love. He looks deeper than the outer shell and sees each person's heart and what each person can become. 'The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' (1 Samuel 16:7 NIV) What's more, He grieves when His children miss the opportunities that are theirs.

God sent His son to help beauty return to the human condition: to set captives free, 'to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.' 'They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendour.'(Isaiah 61:3 NIV)

God wants each person to become a soul of great beauty so they can fully receive and understand the blessings He has to give. Jesus named these gifts: 1) Abundant life, 'I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.' (John 10:10); 2)The Holy Spirit, 'The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name will teach you all things...' (John 14:26); 3) Peace, 'my peace I give to you...' (John 14:27); 4) Joy, '...that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be full.' (John 15:11).

God works in ways that self-promote His great qualities. He wants to make us His souls of great beauty that reflect His glorious gifts; so all may know that we are the people that He has blessed. Through the inundation of God's love, peace, joy and the Holy Spirit; souls of beauty allow others to glimpse what and who God is. Such souls are irrefutable, undeniable witnesses to Him as well as an open invitation to others to join God's family.

All God's gifts come through the sacrifice of the perfect and most beautiful soul of all, Jesus Christ. He lived and died to give each believer in Him the opportunity to choose to accept His love and become the highest form of human: a soul of great beauty, in the image of our Creator.

A partnership with God to become a soul of great beauty is a rewarding journey that every believer can experience. On it we can learn much more about how much God loves us and that He searches our hearts. 'I am He who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.' (Revelation 2:23 NIV) Perhaps He searches because it pleases Him to find beautiful intentions there, and perhaps to prepare our souls for more spiritual beauty therapy from the inside out.

Question: God is willing, but how willing are you to be made into a soul of great beauty?
